Apex Legends Global Series Returns January 20th for the ALGS Split 1 Pro League Regular Season

  • ALGS Split 1 Pro League Regular Season begins on January 20th.
  • The Pro League Split 1 continues for 8 weeks, culminating in the Regional Finals for North America, EMEA, APAC South, and APAC North.
  • Winners of the Regional Finals in the ALGS Pro League will be entitled to their share of a $500,000 USD Prize Pool.

Professional Apex Legends returns for Year 4 of the ALGS on January 20th when the Split 1 Pro League kicks off. According to Respawn, this year saw the highest player participation in the Preseason Qualifier history, and this weekend North American, EMEA, APAC North, and APAC South will start their respective Pro Leagues to qualify for the Split 1 Playoffs.

“This year’s ALGS is set to be the most global competition yet, with more participating regions and more ways to engage with Apex Legends esports than ever before,” John Nelson, Sr. Director and Commissioner, Apex Legends Competitive Gaming, Electronic Arts (EA). “We have an incredible group of teams and broadcast talent for the Split 1 Pro League, and we’re looking forward to delivering top-tier competition, bringing even more memorable moments to our fans around the world.”

Split 1 League Format

The format for the ALGS Pro League remains mostly unchanged with 120 teams across four regions. The competition will follow the triple round-robin format across eight weeks, with each team competing in 36 matches across six series.

The regular season will finish with the Regional Finals where the top 20 teams from each will compete in the Apex Legends Global Series Match Point format to determine who takes home their share of the $500,000 USD prize pool and earns their place at the Split 1 Playoffs.

The major change from last year's ALGS is with the South American region, which has been dissolved. In place of the South American Pro League, the region will have four Challenger Circuit tournaments per split to determine the Regional Finals participants. The top two teams from the Regional Finals will earn their place in the Split 1 Playoffs.
