Year 4 ALGS Partnership Program

“Our competitors and participating esports organizations are foundational to our success,” said John Nelson, Sr. Director & Commissioner, ALGS. “We’re excited to innovate with our 12 partner teams to find new paths to prosperity. We also remain committed to working with all invested organizations around the world to build a sustainable ecosystem and deliver amazing experiences to our fans.”

The announcement says that the Partnership Program will provide financial support for teams as well as other resources in the form of opportunities such as team booths at ALGS events, innovative competitive Apex Legends experiences and more community-related benefits.

“This is a significant step toward long-term sustainability for Fnatic in Apex Legends,” said Patrik Sattermon, Chief Gaming Officer and Co-Founder of Fnatic. “We are excited to work with EA to continue to build an ecosystem in which the teams, the publisher and (most importantly) the fans prosper.”

Together with these 12 selected teams, the ALGS intends to actively work with these organizations to identify further opportunities to engage with fans throughout the year.

The 12 teams included in the Year 4 ALGS Partnership Program; Fnatic, DarkZero, XSET, FURIA, LG Chivas, TSM, Moist Esports, FaZe Clan, OpTic Gaming, Alliance, Riddle and Disguised.

What Teams Are in the ALGS Partner Program?

The 12 teams included in the ALGS Partner Program for Year 4 include

  • Alliance
  • DarkZero
  • Disguised
  • FaZe Clan
  • Fnatic
  • FURIA
  • LG Chivas
  • Moist Esports
  • OpTic Gaming
  • Riddle
  • TSM
  • XSET

These teams were chosen based on several factors including tenure in the Apex Legends Global Series, previous competitive performance and their commitment to helping the space grow.

Since the culmination of the Year 3 ALGS Championship, several endemic teams have expressed their dissatisfaction with the way EA and Respawn have run their competitive circuit with the Apex Legends Global Series. Teams such as Liquid, NRG and 100 Thieves are among those who have stepped away from the professional Apex Legends scene, but expressed interest in rejoining should things change.

"When I tuned into the ALGS Championship a few months ago, I started to get very invested in the games, the players, and the scene in general,” said Jeremy “Disguised Toast” Wang, CEO and Founder of Disguised. “The fanbase is incredibly passionate and the watch parties were so fun to host. It's an esport I can see us being in for a long time with the support of EA, and I'm excited to have Disguised as a partnered team for 2024."

The ALGS Partnership Program has been in place since Year 1 of the Apex Legends Global Series as a way to provide feedback and help to better the future of the esports ecosystem. Perhaps Year 4 will be a turning point that allows EA, Respawn and the ALGS to better empower the teams, players and fans to get the most enjoyment out of a game they all love.
