2023 has been a complete shift from the everyday LOUD’s Arthur “tuyz” Vieira experienced in 2022 when he was competing with TBK Esports. Now, he is competing at the highest level of VALORANT on one of the best teams in the VCT Americas League as he prepares for VCT Masters Tokyo and VCT Champions.
“I did not expect everything to happen so fast,” tuyz said. “I wouldn’t call it luck because I did a really great job last year to find a place on LOUD, but I really didn’t expect to be here.”
During the VCT Americas League regular season, LOUD dominated the regular season with an 8-1 record. So when the team entered the VCT Americas League playoffs, expectations were already set on them to qualify for VCT Masters Tokyo.
Still, it was nothing but excitement for tuyz once he officially booked his ticket to VCT Masters Tokyo and VCT Champions 2023.
“I’m feeling great that I get to go to Tokyo and Champs this year,” tuyz said. “Of course, I was lucky that I was able to go to LOCK//IN, but it was in Brazil. Now we have the opportunity to play against the best teams on the international stage once again, so I am very excited about that.”
Who Does tuyz Want To Face Internationally?
DRX are going to VCT Masters Tokyo.
tuyz doesn’t have a team he is excited to face in the VCT Americas League Grand Final because he has played all the teams throughout the regular season. However, when asked about teams he was excited to play on the international stage, he highlighted two that stood out.
“I don’t have a favorite I want to play against in the VCT Americas League because I enjoy playing all the teams,” tuyz said. “That being said, I really do enjoy playing against DRX and Fnatic. Their players are really fun to play against.”
One of the biggest challenges of playing in the VCT Americas League as a LATAM VALORANT player is being away from the comforts of home and family. That same challenge applies to tuyz, who explained that he is “very close” to his parents. Yet, despite these challenges, he has loved every single moment of competing in the VCT Americas League because he gets to do it with his “extended family.”
“I am very close to my parents, so I do really miss them,” tuyz said. “But at the same time, my teammates are like my extended. We live together, and we practice together, so this has been a fun experience that we have all shared together.”
When Will VCT Americas League Grand Final Take Place?
LOUD has officially secured its spot in the VCT Americas League Grand Final on Sunday, May 28. While they are uncertain who their opponent will be, LOUD is entering that Grand Final with confidence because everyone on the team fully believes that their “work” will continue to carry them through playoffs.
“We are very confident about this game, and everyone’s confidence is high,” tuyz said. “Everyone is feeling super confident, and they believe in our work, so we have just been carrying that through playoffs.”
They will await the winner of the Lower Bracket Final between Evil Geniuses and the winner of the C9/NRG match on Saturday, May 27, to determine their opponent in the Grand Final.
