Teamfight Tactics' first-ever old set revival is now in full swing with TFT Set 3.5, TFT: Galaxies letting players rediscover, or discover for the first time one of the glory days of TFT past. The Best Traits in Set 3.5 Revival

Celestial

Celestial is the least flashy trait in TFT Sert 3.5 but it's very simple one line of text that explains what the trait does making it one of the absolute best traits in the entire game. Celestial is simple. 

While the trait is active, ALL allies get omnivamp. Yep, every single ally champion now gets a built-in Gunblade or Bloodthirster. This is very broken in TFT Set 3.5 and it doesn't (or does) help that every single champion in the Celestial trait is either a premier synergy piece or flat-out carry. 

Chrono

Chrono, like Celestial is not very flashy and like Celestial, Chrono provides a blanket buff effect to all ally champions on the board that is universally good. Chrono simply provides ramping attack speed that stacks harder depending on the number of Chrono champions on the board. Attack speed is arguably the best overall stat in the game as it's not only good at doing damage faster, but it also stacks mana faster as mana generates with every single auto attack. And that’s before looking at the star-studded cast that the Chrono trait has with Ezreal as a main carry, Shen as an insane value tank and Wukong being one of the best CC options in the game. 

Battlecast

Battlecast is a pretty unique trait that benefits both tanks and carry champions. The issue with most traits is that some of the champions within the trait don't really benefit from the trait itself and are labeled as “synergy bots” which are essentially champions that have the sole purpose of just being on the board for the sake of activating a trait. 

While that is somewhat still true with BattleCast, at least every single champion in trait is useful. Thats because Battlecast champions either heal or do extra damage once they take or dish out 10 attacks meaning that the tanks get to heal and the backline carries get stronger. This is pretty good, especially with the likes of Viktor and Kog’Maw being fantastic carries while Urgot is the late-game big bad. 

Darkstar

Speaking of synergy bots that serve a purpose, Darkstar is the dream trait for synergy bots as the trait literally makes Darkstar champions stronger every time an ally champion dies in combat meaning that it is beneficial to throw in as many Darkstar champions onto the board and have them die quickly. There is no difference in buffs whether a one-cost champion dies or a five-cost. Champion dies. As for the main carries, Jhin, Shaco and Xerath are all great carries that can win lobbies. 

Astro

A new trait that didn't exist in Set 3 but was added in Set 3.5 was Astro. Like Star Guardian, Astro was a mana-based trait that simply said, if there are three Astro Champions on the board, reduce the mana costs of each Astro champion by 30. This on paper is a massive buff to the four Astro champions. 

The problem is that the champions are balanced around it meaning that without the trait active, the champions by themselves are underpowered. This isn't a huge issue for the two tanks, Gnar and Nautalis but for Teemo and Bard, the trait teeters in and out of being useless or broken and in TFT Set 3.5 Revival, it's on the more broken side.

Mech-Pilot

Perhaps the most infamous trait in TFT history, Mech-Pilot for many players was THE comp to play when TFT Set 3.5 originally came out a couple of years ago but in Set 3.5 Revival, there are just better traits to play. That’s not to say players should write off the Mech-Pilot trait as the super Garen mech is still a big problem especially when the Mech-Pilot champions scale up in star level but the real star of the show was always Shaco who isn't even a part of the trait. 

Rebel

Rebel gets some bonus points for being a trait that rewards unique positioning as the trait gives any Rebel champion who is adjacent to another Rebel champion bonus damage and a shied for every single Rebel champion they are touching. This creates interesting puzzles for players to maximize the damage for their carry champions while maximizing the shield bonus for their tanks. But the downside is that champions are clumped together which could be bad. 

Space Pirate

The Econ trait or Set 3.5 Revival, Space Pirate while having one of the most iconic cast of champions in the trait, as an econ generator falls flat as it is a trait reliant on killing enemy champions and requires some serious high rolling to get the Space Pirate champions strong enough early to spike to start the snowball. But when a player does hit an early Darius three-star that they can use to ramp into a cracked Gangplank in the late game, it usually results in a W. 

Cybernetic

Cybernetic was a fan favorite trait when it made its debut back in Set 3 and it was such a good idea on paper that Riot has turned the trait into a series of augments in the more modern sets. The trait is pretty simple, if a Cybernetic champion is holding an item, they gain bonus stats. This allows players to essentially get really good value by spreading their items around. The problem in Set 3.5 revival is the main carries in the Cybernetic trait are not good enough as Irelia, Ekko and Vayne are shells of their former selves.

Star Guardian

There usually is one trait that is a spell splinger's dream and in Set 3.5, that was supposed to be Star Guardian. This trait actually made its TFT debut in TFT Set 3.5 and was later brought back in TFT Set 8 but with a rework. That's because, in TFT Set 3.5, things got a little out of hand. In TFT Set 3.5, whenever a Star Guardian casts a spell, an amount of mana would be evenly distributed among the other Star Guardians on the board. 

The idea was that the low-mana Star Guardians would essentially be Mana printers with Syndra being the main carry and main mana printer. However, in TFT Set 3.5 Revival, Syndra has been gutted with a high mana cost and because of that and the new item changes, Star Guardian isn't very good.
