League of Legends: LCS 2023 Spring Split Week 4 Results
This week marks the halfway point of the season, and it's going to be a wild one. With three days of play, we should have a pretty good idea of what these teams actually are by the end of the week. Will Dignitas go winless in the first half of the season? FlyQuest has finally lost a game, but is it a sign of trouble or just a blip on the radar? Will Team Liquid ever right the ship? Let's dive in.

CLG (4-4) vs. FlyQuest (7-1) - Winner: FlyQuest (8-1)

FlyQuest (8-1) Survives CLG (4-5)
That was a lot closer than anyone thought it would be. Despite battling back to .500, CLG still entered this game against FlyQuest as a massive underdog. Nevertheless, they played with a lot of heart and certainly made FlyQuest work for it.
For CLG, a 2-1 close to the first round robin gives them hope going forward into the last four weeks of the season. And on the other side, FlyQuest is now firmly in the driver's seat going onto the back half of the split. They've got a comfortable two game lead over C9 and Evil Geniuses, who are tied for second place.
Evil Geniuses (7-2) Handle Immortals (2-7)
It was a very slow start to the game, with no kills on the board at the 12 minute mark. But once Evil Geniuses got going, there really was no stopping them. By 22 minutes, they held a commanding 9-1 kill differential and a 4k gold advantage. Jojopyun has looked shaky of late, but he was strong in mid lane against AblazeOlive. FBI, meanwhile continued to look like one of the best ADC's in the LCS.
For Evil Geniuses, they now sit one game back of FlyQuest. Despite looking a little out of sorts at times, they sit on a strong record and have to feel good about their futures. For Immortals on the other hand, it'll be time for some soul searching. A 2-7 record isn't acceptable for anyone in the LCS, and they'll need to make some changes going into the back half of Spring and looking towards Summer.
Cloud9 (7-2) Win A Hard Fought Battle With Team Liquid (3-6)
Berserker is so good, and Cloud9 is one of the best teams in the LCS. Team Liquid played them hard and, early on, definitely looked like they had the edge. However, Cloud9 showed a lot of resilience and found enough opportunities to claw their way back into the game.
For Cloud9, they sit tied with Evil Geniuses in second place of the LCS. Trailing a game behind FlyQuest, they are very much in control of their own destinies as we make our way into the back half of the split. For Team Liquid, it's time for some hard questions. Their roster has not lived up to what they should be, and their rookies are really struggling. I predicted them to do well this split, but at the end of the day, you are what your record says you are. Team Liquid is 3-6.
TSM (5-4) Keep Dignitas (0-9) Winless
That was a tough watch. TSM outplayed Dignitas throughout the game, despite the low kill count. There's not much to say about it. Dignitas looks like a college team playing against professionals. Communication, mechanics, everything just feels wrong when you watch them. It's one thing to lose, but when you don't get a single kill, something is wrong.
For TSM, you're over .500 going into the midway point of the season. It's better than many, including me, predicted. For Dignitas, I can hardly stomach the thought of watching them play 9 more games this season. It's time for a total rebuild.
Golden Guardians (5-4) Finish The Five Game Win Streak Over 100 Thieves (4-5)
What a game for Golden Guardians. Despite early struggles thanks to 100T aggression, River managed to be a major difference maker on Vi. Bjergsen played well, especially given this was his first pro game on Tristana, but it wasn't enough to overcome the surging Golden Guardians.
For 100 Thieves, there are going to be some tough looks in the mirror this weekend. Doublelift and Bjergsen have not been the panacea people had hoped they would be, and while there have been flashes of greatness, they're far too inconsistent. Golden Guardians started the split 0-4, but since bringing Gori in have gone 5-2, including ending on a five game win streak.
