The 2023 Call of Duty League regular season is over, and all eyes turn to eight teams that will be fighting for a chance to be crowned Champions of MW2. It has been a rollercoaster of a season, from top teams getting brought back to reality to teams getting surprisingly hot at the right time.

With CDL Champs beginning Thursday, June 15, let's dive into what teams we will see and who could walk away as the best team of the year.

The Champs Favorites

The villains of the CDL have been playing the best and most well-rounded throughout the entire year. FaZe has finished top-3 in every Major this season, winning the Grand Finals in Major 2 and was just one game away from winning Major 5

They were known as purely an SnD team during the early parts of the year while struggling in the respawn game. They've made several adjustments in their game throughout the season and are becoming one of the best respawn teams in the CDL. FaZe is the clear-cut favorite to walk away as Champs with the way they've been dominating.

The Fan-Favorites

Toronto has become a team many have been rooting for this season. With Scrap joining the team for his rookie season this year, he's brought the character, attitude, and mentality that the team needed. He should be the favorite to win Rookie of the Year and is in the conversation to also win the MVP of the CDL.

Followed by him are the two vets, CleanX and Insight, who have paired well with Scrap all season. When CleanX is playing to the best of his ability, he's one of the best SMGs in the CDL, and Insight has been a tremendous leader for the team.

Joining the team during Major 3, Hicksy, the other Toronto rookie, has been one of the best additions of the year and a large reason for their Major 3 Championship and their late-season success. It won't be a surprise to see Toronto in the Grand Finals this season.

The Sleepers

After a hot start to the season, entering Major 1 Bracket Play as the No.1 seed and finishing top-3 in Major 2, Minnesota had disappointing finishes in the next two Majors. They couldn't find a single win in Major 3 and fought valiantly through the Losers Bracket in Major 4 but still came up short of playing on Championship Sunday.

They went through a few interesting roster changes, moving Attach to the bench and bringing in Fame as a rookie in Stage 4, then bringing Attach back and moving Afro to the bench right before Major 5. The move proved to be positive for the team as they finished top-3 in Major 5.

Fame, being a natural SMG player, looks to be more comfortable in his new role, with Attach shaking off the rust from being benched, and Bance and Cammy look to have a new spark to their game. If Minnesota can play like that with little time to practice and gain chemistry with each other, imagine what they can do as they prepare for Champs.
