Influential Voices in Gaming Reveals All Honorees
The honorees for the Influential Voices in Gaming have been revealed.
Raidiant, an esports platform with a focus on elevating women in gaming, has teamed up with Ally to present the Influential Voices in Gaming. This is meant to celebrate individuals in the gaming space who have helped to inspire diversity and inclusivity, including esports pros, journalists, on-camera talent, and more.
In an interview with Ally executive director of brand and sponsorship marketing Bridget Sponsky told Esports Illustrated that gaming is about digital connections in all forms and has created an extremely important community. She said: "It's important for us to work with [Raidiant] on making sure the diverse array of gamers is represented. It's such a diverse community and it's important for those voices to be heard."
There are 30 honorees, chosen by the gaming community and then finalized by a panel of industry experts. The five judges aim to well represent the entire gaming community, according to Sponsky, to ensure all facets of the industry have a voice.
"What's really exciting about this particular list is that it emphasizes the importance of diverse voices in gaming," said Sponsky. "When women and people from different backgrounds are telling their story the narrative changes. It's so important for those voices to be recognized in the gaming industry."
