Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn OP Kit Hints at Exciting New Cards
While some trading card game competitors are taking Disney Lorcana very seriously, Ravensburger has also made it very approachable to casuals with the way its League is set up. Essentially, players of all skill levels can show up and earn points towards fun prizes just for participating in fun activities, getting single wins in-store, and completing lighthearted challenges.
In the latest organized play kit for the upcoming second set, sharp-eyed collectors noticed a lot of new cards being hinted at within the challenges.
New Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn Cards Being Hinted At
Rise of the Floodborn is the second set, currently set to release later this year. We know some of the cards that are coming, but fans are left wondering what other characters and cards they can expect when the set is released.
Now, we have a bit of insight into some possibilities thanks to the organized play kit.
First, the challenge Great Illuminary Snack Bar states that you must have three cards with food in an image. This points at some food-related cards in Floodborn since only two cards have food on them right now (Stitch - Carefree Surfer is holding a sandwich).
Second is Out Past Midnight, a challenge that calls for three different Cinderella cards to be in play. There are only three Cinderella cards currently announced. Does this mean there are even more Cinderella cards to make this challenge a bit more relevant and plausible?
Friends Until Forever states that you need Winnie the Pooh and two of his friends in play. This is a pretty exciting one since right now we only know of two confirmed Winnie the Pooh characters. More Winnie the Pooh cards are definitely coming, including some upcoming character cards.
The Seven Dwarves have also been confirmed in the kit with the challenge Now It’s a Party. This task calls for Snow White and two dwarves to be in play. You can get another point toward your total if you have seven different dwarves in play. Definitely expect to see all seven dwarves at least once in the upcoming set — and they most likely will have some sort of synergy.
It’s (Not Really) a Jungle Out There says that Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde must be in play. This is exciting since it means Nick Wilde will be in the set, something that was not previously announced by Ravensburger.
Get a Clue is great for fans of The Great Mouse Detective since it calls for Basil, Hiram Flaversham, and Mrs. Judson to be in play. Before this, only two cards were confirmed from this classic film. We should probably be expecting a good amount of characters to show up.
A Warrior and Their Dragon states you must have Raya and Sisu while A Gathering of Sorcerers calls for Merlin and Madam Mim. Then, Laboring Through the Day can only be completed if you have Hercules, Pain, and Panic in play. These characters are all officially confirmed now.
Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn is coming November 17, 2023.
