Cloud9 Decimate CLG

Either Cloud9 is really really good, or CLG played more like the CLG that was expected this year. And honestly, it could be either. From the onset, C9 looked absolutely dominant and at no point did the match feel like it was in question.

C9 will have the chance to prove exactly how good they are tomorrow as they take on FlyQuest. Seldom do you get to say you're looking for a statement win in the week 2 of the LCS schedule, but pro League of Legends has been blessed with exactly that in this 2023 season.

FlyQuest Outlast Golden Guardians

Following a spirited performance out of Golden Guardians, FlyQuest advances to a 3-0 showdown against Cloud9 tomorrow. GG elected to play a late scaling comp and try to survive FlyQuest long enough to get to the ultra late game, but FlyQuest did just enough to keep that from happening.

Throughout the match, FlyQuest applied pressure all across the map, stealing early dragons to set up the Chemtech Soul. Doing so forced Golden Guardians to fight them when they might have preferred to just keep farming up the sidelines. In the end, Chemtech and Baron buff makes the difference and FlyQuest takes the win.

Doublelift Carries, 100 Thieves Defeat Team Dignitas

This felt like a loss on the Dignitas coaching staff. Like Golden Guardians, they chose a late scaling comp but weren't able to stay in the game long enough to see it to fruition. Spawn and Biofrost took the Lucian-Nami combo to try and bully bottom lane, but even with plenty of ganking help from Santorin in the jungle, they got nothing done against Doublelift and Busio.

Closer had a rough game on Vi but still managed to be a difference maker while Bjergsen looked every bit the veteran he is. He stayed calm and collected and just continued to put pressure on Jensen. And speaking of veterans, Doublelift powered to a 9-1-5 K/D/A, finishing things off with a Quadra kill.

Team Liquid Get On The Board

Don't tell Team Liquid they can't do an early game comp. After failing twice to make an early game snowball into a win, TL finally found the plays they were looking for against Immortals. Throughout the match, Liquid looked like the better team and finally worthy of some of the hype their off-season signings garnered.

Yeon and CoreJJ, in particular, looked strong as they bullied Tactical and Fleshy throughout the early and midgame. On Immortals side, ABlazeOlive tried to scale up Kassadin to level 16 and 1v9 to victory, but it wasn't to be. Team Liquid takes the win and has a chance to get back to .500 with a win tomorrow over Golden Guardians.

Evil Geniuses Dominate Against TSM

Don't look now, but FBI is LEGENDARY again. It's going to be an unpleasant film review session in the TSM locker room tonight. Evil Geniuses looked every bit the team we expected them to be at the start of the season, but TSM deserves a lot of flack for their utter inability to get onto FBI in team fight after team fight.

Both teams are now 2-1, and both teams have big games ahead of them tomorrow. For Evil Geniuses, they've got a game they really need to win against 0-3 Team Dignitas. TSM, meanwhile, will have a brutal matchup against 100 Thieves that should be a ton of fun to watch.
