Toronto Ultra Secure Dominant CDL Major 1 Victory

Boston Breach Major 1 saw Toronto Ultra come out as winners in a hard fought final against Atlanta FaZe

The first Major of the 2024 Call of Duty League season brought some of the best games yet, along with some big surprises, and dominant victories. Something that wasn’t a surprise however was Toronto Ultra and Atlanta FaZe going head to head in the grand final. The two met in the Winners Final earlier in the day, with Ultra taking a convincing 3-1 victory. However, after FaZe’s dominant 3-1 win over OpTic Texas in Losers Finals, the rematch looked like it was going to be closer than before.

The first map in the Grand Final saw Ultra and FaZe head to Karachi. Here, Insight dominated on the side of Toronto Ultra, putting up a lobby high 1.53 K/D. However, it was CleanX’s multi kills and efficient trading that saw Ultra come out with a 250-239 victory in the end. CleanX and Insight continued to run the show in the map two Skidrow Search and Destroy, ending with 9 and 11 kills respectively. This 6-2 win saw Ultra continue their unbeaten Hardpoint and Search and Destroy record in Major 1 as they took a 2-0 lead in the Grand Final.

However, the script completely flipped in map three, with Atlanta FaZe dominating on Invasion Control. This was a repeat of the Winners Finals series, with FaZe taking a 3-1 Invasion Control victory, with a 1.42 K/D from Cellium as he topped the leaderboard. However, Toronto Ultra regained control of the series in map four, taking a 250-237 victory on Skidrow Hardpoint, with Insight continuing to lead the way with a 1.11 K/D.

The Grand Final came to an end in map five with a dominant 6-2 Karachi Search and Destroy victory for Toronto Ultra, with every member of the team having a positive K/D. This saw Ultra win the Grand Final 4-1, and take home the Boston Breach Major 1 trophy. CleanX was named the MVP, due to his clutch plays and multikills which were crucial in Toronto Ultra’s performance at this Major.

The Boston Breach Major 1 tournament brought a lot of surprises, with Minnesota ROKKR and Carolina Royal Ravens going further than many expected, with NYSL and Miami Heretics majorly underperforming. However, one thing that didn’t surprise was the dominance of Toronto Ultra, as they confirmed their spot as the best team in the Call of Duty League.
