Supportive Esports Parents: Snoopy's Story
Boston Breach Major I is just around the corner, and Breach’s star SMG, Snoopy, is one of the best players in the Call of Duty League. After joining Boston Breach in 2023 at just 18 years old, Snoopy has a bright career ahead of him, and will play in front of a home crowd for the first time ever this week. However, it wasn’t always a smooth ride to the CDL, and Snoopy had to convince his Mom that esports was a real career.
At first, Snoopy was pursuing a career in medicine, but he took a leap of faith, and gave himself a year to become a professional Call of Duty player. Thankfully for Snoopy, this more than paid off, now playing in the Call of Duty League for Boston Breach. Snoopy’s big break came in the 2022, Modern Warfare 2 season, as he started the year on Awobabobs NA, before short stints with SMOG Alpha and OMiT before signing for Boston Breach Academy in April 2023. Before long, Snoopy found himself on the starting roster for Boston Breach at the 2023 World Championships, and retained his spot for the 2024 season.
Snoopy’s rise to the Call of Duty League is incredible, doing it in just one year. And he had some words of advice for anyone else looking to do the same.
“It’s hard. It was really hard, but if it’s something that you really want and you know you want to pursue, you have to go for it. You have to involve your family too because they’re the ones that are closer to you and will support you.”
