RamBeau Joins DarkZero Two Weeks After ALGS Retirement
- RamBeau announced his retirement from the Apex Legends competitive scene on March 29th, but said he planned to still stream as a content creator.
- His return to the ALGS comes after talking with his mother and agreeing that an opportunity to play with former Champions DarkZero was too good to pass up.
- RamBeau will be filling in for Sharky on the DarkZero squad for the remainder of the Apex Pro League in the ALGS.
In late March on Twitter, Beau "RamBeau" Sheidy, who was a player for Sentinel’s Apex Legends squad in the Apex Legends Global Series announced his retirement. Now, two weeks later, he’s pulling his own Michael Jordan and coming back.
Joining DarkZero
In his TwitLonger post, RamBeau starts by confirming he’ll be playing with DZ the weekend of April 16th and likely, the rest of the Apex Legends Pro League. He details the reasons for his original retirement and why he decided, after talking with his mother, why he returned to play for DarkZero.
“After my retirement announcement I genuinely had no interest in returning to comp. All in the span of the last month, I had a death in the immediate family and several other family complications that are personal and I do not care to get into. I did need to step away and be there for my mom. My mind was on everything except for comp. Not to mention, I lost a lot of love for the game, even prior to LAN. I even told RKN and Keon that no matter what, this would've been my last year competing regardless.
I did not speak to DZ at all before my retirement or any other team. I did not try and snake my way onto another team. My honest plan was to just play casually and stream as a CC from time to time.
It would of taken something extremely special for me to even consider playing comp again. A few days ago I got news from PVP that they would need a fill-in. After talking with my mom, it would be stupid for me to not take this opportunity. I still consider myself one of the best in the world so as mine as well capitalize while I can.” RamBeau.
DarkZero Esports
DarkZero Esports is an Australian team that relocated to North America. This is their first year in the NA region where they were hoping to find tougher competition. The roster is back to back ALGS Champions and as of the mid season break in the Apex Legends Pro League, sit at 5th place overall. Only 11 points separates them from the top spot held by XSET.
With four match days left, DarkZero plays on three of them in group B with XSET set to play another three in Group C. They’re going to need all the help they can get to catch up, especially if XSET continues their dominant performance so far.
DarkZero Esports is led by Rhys "Zer0" Perry who has settled on Valkyrie for most of the Pro League so far. Noyan "Genburten" Ozkose has been playing the team's Catalyst with Rick "Sharky" Wirth on the Seer.
RamBeau played Valkyrie for the Sentinels, but he’ll be filling in for Sharky with the DarkZero squad. The Sentinels are currently sitting in 17th place overall, with only two more match days to finish the Pro League. As one of the legacy Apex Teams, they disbanded last year and have since been rotating players in and out of the roster with little success.

The ALGS Returns on April 16th
The NA ALGS Pro League returns April 16th with the last matches on April 23rd, 29th and 30th. The finals will take place on May 7th. Tune in on the official Apex Legends Twitch and YouTube Channel.
