WoW Patch 10.2.5 Seeds of Renewal, World of Wacraft: Dragonflight, Amirdrassil Raid
- The 10.2.5 Patch Seeds of Renewal will release on January 16th.
- Players will now be able to challenge Normal Dungeons in Dragonflight with the help of Followers taking on empty party roles.
- The Dracthyr will be able to take to the skies with their own version of Dragonriding.
With the Dragonflight expansion of World of Warcraft finally winding down, the heroes of Azeroth are about to receive their final 10.0 patch before The War Within starts to count down. The 10.2.5 patch is titled Seeds of Renewal and will include many quality-of-life changes as well as some epilogue-esque additions such as the reclamation of Gilneas. Patch 10.2.5 of World of Warcraft: Dragonflight launches on January 16th and here is everything new about the patch so far.

Patch Notes for 10.2.5 Seeds of Renewal
Blizzard released a 2024 roadmap at the end of last year and with it, Patch 10.2.5 Seeds of Renewal had a list of what players could expect. With a recent news post on Blizzard’s website here’s what they broke down for each of the coming additions to Dragonblights epilogue.
Follower Dungeons
Taking a page out of Final Fantasy XIV’s book, players can now queue up solo or with others into normal difficulty dungeons in Dragonflight. For every empty slot in your party, a follower NPC will join your group to fill the missing roll.
The rewards will not be affected and will be the same as if you finished the dungeon with a full party of players.
Azerothian Archives
Players can now discover the history of the Dragon Isles and get to know unique characters, hear stories of old, and witness a time from long before. There will be events to participate in that are made for solo and groups. These events can be located in Traitor’s Rest and will include a Weekly Public Event with chances to explore and earn rewards that include battle pets, mounts, and transmog sets.
Players can start their careers as Archivists by examining their advertisements in the Sapphire Enclave library in Valdrakken. Do note that the group activities will not be available on the PTR.

Reclaiming Gilneas
King Greymane is ready to retake his kingdom, but Gilneas isn’t as empty as expected. Help reclaim what was lost and return the kingdom to Gilnean hands. This event won’t be available on the PTR.
Worldwide Dragonriding
Dragonriding is now available throughout Azeroth wherever flying is available. Outside of the Dragon Isles, Dragonriding mounts move at 80% of their maximum speeds.
The Outland Cup
The Outland Cup is available for testing from November 16 through November 29. Mount up and rediscover the skies of Outland with a new Dragonriding racing event arriving on the shattered world.
This event includes thirteen new races spread across Outland and available in three variants (normal, advanced, and reverse courses.)

Character Customization
- Five new hair colors have been added for Trolls.
- One new skin color has been added for Draenei.
- New customizations for Warlock Tyrant and Darkglare demons
- Dracthyr
- New Passive Ability: Empowered Soaring grants Dracthyr the Soar equivalent of dragonriding.
- New Passive Ability: Expedited Takeoff reduces Soar’s cooldown to 10 seconds.
- Familiar Skies (Racial) has been removed.
Class Changes
- Multiple Class talents that were previously Shadowlands Covenant Abilities (such as Convoke the Spirits, Divine Toll, and Sepsis) have had their spell visuals updated to match their Class visual kit. This is an ongoing effort and more will be added for the Seeds of Renewal 10.2.5 PTR cycle.
- EVOKER
- Preservation
- Developers’ note: We would like maintaining Reversions to feel more rewarding for Preservation Evoker, even when playing an Emerald Blossom-focused build. As a result, we are tying in casts of Reversion with Essence Burst. This should make the rotational flow of Preservation smoother and more enjoyable. Since this introduces more mana-free spell casts, we are also increasing mana costs to compensate. As always, feedback on this change is welcome and we will be monitoring discussion around this.
- Essence Burst may now trigger from casts of Reversion.
- The mana cost of most spells increased by 10%.
- MONK
- Mistweaver
- Dance of the Wind has been redesigned – Your dodge chance is increased by 10% and an additional 10% every 4 seconds until you dodge an attack.
- Ancient Teachings now additionally increases Stamina by 5% while active.
- Windwalker
- Dance of the Wind has been redesigned – Your dodge chance is increased by 10% and an additional 10% every 4 seconds until you dodge an attack.
- SHAMAN
- Earth Elemental, Fire Elemental, and Storm Elemental (as well as the Primal versions of these elementals) now have a reduced size in instances for the Shaman’s allies and enemies. For the Shaman, the Elementals still appear large.
