VCT season is finally upon us, and VALORANT players are showing up in droves to support the players and teams that inspire them. Patch 8.03 will make that easier than ever by adding Team Capsules that deliver 50% of profits to their respective teams. In addition, Chamber mains will be happy about buffs to their favorite Sentinel. Plus, Breach is finally moving into VALORANT’s new era with fresh teammate interactions – and as with any update, players can expect plenty of bug fixes. Let’s walk through Patch 8.03’s updates and all the Team Capsule goodies it has to offer.

What agents are changing in VALORANT Patch 8.03?

After exploring some experimental changes in the recent 8.03 PBE, VALORANT devs continue to refine Chamber’s kit and strengthen him as a sentinel. The 8.03 patch note states that “the changes should provide you with more access to the Headhunter (Q) as a save or sidearm without draining your econ, and increase the clear strength of Chamber’s ultimate compared to the Operator.” In addition, Breach is finally getting some much-needed love with voice line revamps and new interactions with teammates.

Chamber

  • Headhunter
    • Price has decreased from 150 to 100.
  • Tour de Force
    • Firing rate has increased from 0.7 to 0.9.

Breach

  • Breach has fresh voice lines and fun new interactions with Deadlock, Gekko and Harbor.

What other changes can players expect from VALORANT Patch 8.03?

Other than the minor Breach and Chamber changes, Patch 8.03 includes quality-of-life bug fixes and a minor performance update.

Performance Updates:

  • Streamlined the time from launch to the main menu appearing by removing stalls from that flow. This landed in Patch 8.02.

Bug Fixes:

  • Agent: Fixed an issue where Agents would look like they were still nearsighted in 3rd person for a short period if they destroyed Reyna’s Leer (C) right after it became shootable.
  • Competitive: Fixed an issue where in the end-of-game summary, kills per round was incorrectly rounding up.
  • Gameplay Systems: Fixed an issue in the scoreboard tab with Ultimate Charges being covered by very long usernames.
  • Premier: Fixed an issue in some regions where the Zone displayed in Standings did not match the one selected.

Map Fixes:

Sunset

  • Adjusted fence in A Elbow to fix an issue when shooting through the top section.
  • Fixed a bug where you could jump to the top of the phone booth in A Lobby.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed attackers to break Cypher’s Trapwires (C) in B Main from Mid.

This patch list may not be long, but the changes within are pleasant. Players can finally complete their skin collection with a dripped-out Classic inspired by their favorite team, and VALORANT devs may have finally completed their arduous journey of balancing Chamber. Breach mains will no doubt enjoy their newfound in-game interactions. Keep an eye out for future updates as the VCT season progresses!
