LOUD narrowly grab their first win of the VCT 2023: Americas League over MiBR following a close 2-1 thriller to start their campaign towards VCT Masters: Tokyo.

Expectations were all set on LOUD to easily take the series 2-0 over MIBR. LOUD was rounds away from winning their second international VALORANT tournament at VCT 2023: LOCK//IN. Additionally, they had not only never dropped a series to a Brazilian team, they had never dropped a single map domestically. Meanwhile, MIBR found themselves out 2-0 to Talon Esports in front of the home crowd. So when both teams walked onto the VCT 2023: Americas League stage, expectations were small for MIBR and grand for LOUD.

At first, expectations were being met as LOUD soared to a quick 13-5 victory over MIBR in the first map of Split. However, the same could not be said about the second game on Lotus as it was MIBR who held the 7-5 lead over LOUD in the first half. There, both teams battled very closely in the second half as both teams traded rounds with one another. That finally came to an end with MIBR up over LOUD 12-11. Even though MIBR came into the final round on a force buy, they were able to showcase the team’s raw talents as they shocked the crowd with an exciting 13-11 victory.

On the final map on Haven, LOUD’s dominance came back as they soared to an 8-4 first half. That soon extended into the second half as LOUD increased their lead to 10-4. However, MIBR shocked the entire community as they extended their miracle run to bring the final game nearly to overtime. Unfortunately, that miracle run for MIBR came to a heartbreaking end as LOUD finalized a 13-11 victory to clinch the series 2-1.

For LOUD, this victory puts them at 1-0 in the single round-robin VCT 2023: Americas League season. LOUD will now look to carry this momentum throughout the rest of the season as they extend their moniker as the favorites to win the VCT 2023 Americas League.

For MIBR, today’s performance showcased the team’s potential to compete against the best teams in the VCT 2023: Americas League, despite a rough showing at VCT 2023: LOCK//IN. MIBR will look to grab their first win of the VCT 2023: Americas League next week against KRU Esports.

After today’s series, it will be interesting to see if today’s closer series against LOUD will continue moving forward for MiBR.
