Cloud9 complete VALORANT lineup by signing runi and jakee

Cloud9 VALORANT has five players on the team once again.

Cloud9’s VALORANT lineup has finally been completed just a few days before VCT 2023: Americas League by signing Dylan “runi” Cade and Jake “jakee” Anderson. to their starting lineup.

Following Cloud9’s performance at VCT 2023: LOCK//IN, the team sought to make changes to the lineup ahead of the VCT 2023 Americas League season. As a result, Cloud9 announced the departures of star duelist Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker and in-game leader Anthony “vanity” Malaspina as the team sought to rebuild their team ahead of the Americas League.

Fast forward a couple of weeks, and many were uncertain as to who would fulfill those roles within the team. While it was reported earlier that Runi and jakee were the two favorites to land the starting spots in the team, it was not officially confirmed by Cloud9. Now, both players have officially been revealed by Cloud9 through a cinematic trailer highlighting their addition to the pre-existing Cloud9 trio.

For both players, this will be their first experience at the tier-one level of VALORANT. Runi previously played for Susquehanna Soniqs while jakee has limited experience in pro-VALORANT with a brief stint with NSIC.

Runi will take over IGL duties from the previous Cloud9 in-game leader Anthony “vanity” Malaspina. As for jakee, his role in the team is uncertain as he has been known to play a multitude of various roles. It will be interesting to see if he steps in to fulfill the duelist role left behind by yay or if Nathan “leaf” Orf will take over those duties in the team once again.

Cloud9 fans will be able to keep up with Cloud9’s new VALORANT lineup on April 2 when the team takes on Evil Geniuses to begin their VCT 2023: Americas League campaign.
