Today, EA Sports revealed the first 24 ICON cards that are coming to EA FC 24 at launch. As EA FC 24 will be the first game to include Women in Ultimate Team, this means that four of the eight ICONs coming at launch will be Women.

What are ICONs?

ICON cards are legends of the football game. The best players from around the world who have now retired come back into the game with ratings as they were in their prime. Previously, we have seen some of the best players of all time, such as Diego Maradona, Wayne Rooney and many more.

EA FC 24 ICONs

  • Mia Hamm (USA): First. That’s Mia Hamm in a word. First winner of the Women’s World Player of the Year, first two–time Women’s World cup champion in 1999, and first woman inducted into the World Football Hall of Fame.
  • Zico (Brazil): The greatest playmakers in world football idolized Zico’s creative genius as he invented new ways to glide past his opponents and set the all-time record for free-kick goals at 101.
  • Bobby Charlton (UK): Knighted by the Queen of England, Bobby is only one of nine players to win the World Cup, the UEFA Champions League, and the Ballon d’Or.
  • Camille Abily (FRA): A French and Olympique Lyonnais legend, Abily took home five UEFA Women’s Champions League titles in the last eight years of her career, scoring 15+ goals a season from midfield and creating chance after chance for her teammates to help transform her team into one of the most dominant sides in football history.
  • Birgit Prinz (GER): Prinz was the pinnacle of German football for over a decade, winning every German Player of the Year award between 2001 to 2008 while leading Frankfurt to six Frauen-Bundesliga titles and six German Cup victories in those eight years. She was awarded the Golden Boot in the 2003 World Cup.
  • Homare Sawa (JP): After scoring four times in her first international appearance for Japan at 15 years of age, Sawa went on to become an 11-time league winner, a World Player of the Year recipient, and retired as Japan’s record appearance holder and record goalscorer.
  • Kelly Smith (UK): Ranked England’s second all-time top scorer averaging more than a goal a game, Smith is known for hoisting a glittering five English league titles alongside five FA Cups, and led the Arsenal to a memorable UEFA Women’s Cup victory.
  • Franck Ribery (FRA): This elusive French winger set the then-Bundesliga record for titles, winning nine in just 12 seasons in Bavaria along with a memorable UEFA Champions League victory in 2013.
