How To Watch Capcom Cup 2023 — Qualified Players, Dates, Stream

A full guide to all events, qualifiers, and rules surrounding who makes it into the SF6 Capcom Cup 2023

Capcom, the makers of Street Fighter, made waves this year by revealing a $2 million prize pool for Capcom Cup this year. Coupled with the massive launch of Street Fighter 6, the Capcom Pro Tour is already bringing out the best and brightest of the FGC. At the end of the tour, 48 players from around the world will converge for the final bracket to duke it out for the Cup (and a lot of cash).

Eighteen players will directly qualify from online premier events and 3 will qualify from LAN events. The remaining 27 will come from “World Warrior” points qualification with the final player getting in at the Last Chance Qualifier the day before Capcom Cup begins.

But with so many events it's hard to keep track of who’s already qualified for Capcom Cup and what events are still on the horizon. So here’s a quick look at how you can follow all the action.
All Premier events are streamed on the official Capcom Fighters Twitch channel.

Premier Events (online and offline)

These are the top-flight tournaments on the Capcom Pro Tour this year. Because most of the FGC events for the year are over, there are not many offline events for Street Fighter 6 (expect this to change for 2024). However, if you win a Premier event, you get direct qualification to Capcom Cup and don’t have to worry about accruing points through the rest of the year. These events are broken down by region, thus giving the final bracket a true international feel. Here’s how who’s already qualified for Capcom Cup.

World Warrior Events

These events differ from the Premiers as they are about collecting points from a series of tournaments. Each region is allotted 5 World Warrior online events and the players with the most points qualify for the regional finals. The winner of that final gets to go to Capcom Cup. Winners of World Warrior events get 50 points, 2nd place gets 40 and then each place descends by 5 points until 13th place, which only receives 10 points.

Last Chance Qualifier

The LCQ is the final shot to get into the Capcom Cup finals. This “tournament before the tournament” is generally open to any player who hasn’t qualified for the Cup by other means. It’s also typically held in person at the same venue as the Cup. So only serious players who are willing to make the trip typically play in the LCQ. Only one slot is available for the LCQ so it’s all or nothing for participants.
