Pokemon Unite: Metagross Gets Immediate Buffs In Patch 1.13.1.4

Another patch is on the way to Pokémon Unite and this one makes Metagross feel a lot more like a Pseudo Legendary. Get the full patch notes for Pokemon Unite Patch 1.13.1.4

A brand new patch is coming to Unite and this one is being met with a lot of anticipation. Metagross was released just over a week ago but the release felt lackluster compared to other highly anticipated Pokémon. Well, Unite is attempting to fix that particular problem with this most recent patch. A whole host of buffs are headed Metagross’s way but a few other surprising choices are getting some helpful changes as well! Really, how long has it been since Wigglytuff fans can be happy in Unite? This might be the patch for them!

Buffs

Let's start with all of the Pokémon receiving positive changes in this Patch.

Metagross

  • Stats
    • Defense Increased: 90~505 previous, 90~550 current
    • Sp. Defense increased: 70~370 previous, 70~410 current
  • Moves
    • Iron Defense: Shield increased by 100% and boosted attack increased by 30%
    • Meteor Mash: Cooldown reduced from 11 seconds to 8 seconds. Shield increased by 20%. Shield duration increased from 3 seconds to 5 seconds
    • Zen Headbutt: Cooldown reduced from 6 seconds to 5 seconds
    • Gyro Ball: Cooldown reduced from 5 seconds to 4 seconds. Damage and Shield increased by 30%. Shield duration increased from 3 seconds to 4 seconds
    • Magnet Rise: Cooldown reduced from 10 seconds to 8 seconds. Movement speed increased from 60% to 80%
  • Unite Move
    • Unite moves energy requirement reduced by 16%. Damage when targeting a single enemy increased by 30%. Damage caused by the wall 20%.

Note: The patch notes do not mention specifically if the mechanics of Metagross’s Unite move have been changed or not. Currently the walls created will often be canceled by in game walls or other effects. This will hopefully be fixed this patch.

Wigglytuff

  • Moves
    • Sing: Defense and Sp. Defense lowering effect increased from 25% to 35%. Also increased the time the effect lasts from 1.25 seconds to 1.5 seconds. Movement speed reduction increased from 10% to 15%
    • Sing+: Same as above but time of effect increased from 1.5 seconds to 1.75 seconds.
    • Dazzling Gleam: Damage scaling increased to reach 18% more by level 15.

Sylveon

  • Stats
    • Sp. attack increased from 50~680 to 70~720. (From level 1-15)
  • Unite Move
    • Sylveon’s Unite move now requires 20% less energy to charge.
    • Damage increased by 20%

Gardevoir

  • Moves
    • Teleport: cooldown decreased from 11 seconds to 9 seconds.
  • Unite Move
    • Gardevoir’s Unite move now requires 20% less energy to charge.

Cinderace

  • Moves
    • Ember: Damage increased by 30%. Burn effect damage increased by 100%.
    • Feint: Movement speed increase moved from 25% to 40%

Zeraora

  • Moves
    • Volt Switch: Damage increased by 20%
    • Wild Charge: Damage increased by 13%

Nerfs

Some much needed nerfs come with this patch as well! Surprisingly even to Zacian, who thanks to their EX license. Will not be available in ranked next season.

Zacain

  • Stats
    • Attack decreased from 190~560 to 160~530
    • Crit rate Level 2-4 decreased from 5% to 0%
    • Crit rate level 5-8 decreased from 15% to 5%
    • Crit rate level 9-15 decreased from 25% to 10%
  • Moves
    • Boosted auto attack: move speed reduction is going from 20% to 15%. And that effect duration has been lowered from 2 seconds to 1 seconds.
    • Metal Claw: Damage increased by 20%

Lapras

  • Moves
    • Ice Beam: Frozen ground damage reduced by 20%.
    • Water Pulse: First wave damage reduced by 12%
  • Unite Move
    • Energy requirement for Lapras’s Unite move has been increased by 13%

Dodrio

  • Moves
    • Drill Peck: Damage decreased by 10%
  • Unite Move
    • The bonus attack damage Dodrio would receive has been reduced from 30% to 25%

That's all the documented changes in this most recent patch of Pokémon Unite. The clear winner this time around is Metagross but keep an eye out for Sylveon and Wigglytuff. It might be Fairy types that shine brightest this patch.
