Pokémon GO Taken Treasures Event Guide for January 31st

Players will have a chance to obtain new Shadow Pokémon such as Kyogre, Ho-Oh, Piplup, Chimchar, and Turtwing in the Taken Treasure event for Pokémon GO Taken Treasures.

Pokémon GO Taken Treasure Event Introduces Shadow Kyogre, Ho-Oh, Varoom, Turtwig, Piplup and Chimchar Starters

  • Shadow Kyogre can be obtained by finishing the Timeless Travels Seasonal Research tasks.
  • Shadow Ho-Oh will begin appearing in raids and players can encounter a shiny version of them.
  • Varoom and Revavroom will begin appearing in 12 km eggs.

The next Pokémon GO event is bringing big rewards for players with the Pokémon GO Taken Treasure weekend event. Players will be able to look forward to increased rewards, new shiny variants, Shadow Kyogre and Ho-Oh, shadow variants of starter Pokemon Turtwig, Piplup, and Chimchar, and a new Pokemon in Varoom.

Taken Treasure Event Details

The Pokémon GO Taken Treasure event will start on Saturday, January 31st, at 00:00 AM local time and end on Thursday, February 1st at 11:59 AM local time.

The event will feature the debut of Shadow Kyogre, as well as Shadow Ho-Oh appearing in Shadow Raids. For the first time, Shadow Ho-Oh will also have a chance to appear as its shiny variant.

Shadow Kyogre can be obtained by completing the final part of the Timeless Travels Seasonal Research. Once players have finished the tasks for the Super Rocket Radar, they will have a chance to challenge and defeat Giovanni for the Shadow Kyogre.

Team GO Rocket will also begin to appear more frequently at Pokéstops and in balloons. Players can use the Charged TM to help Shadow Pokémonforget the Charged Attack Frustration.

New Pokémon Added

Besides Kyogre and Ho-Oh, several other new Pokémon will have Shadow variants added to Pokémon GO in the Taken Treasure event.

These new Shadow Pokémon include the Generation 4 starter Pokémon, Piplup, Turtwig, and Chimchar. Other Shadow Pokémon are Corphish, Snorunt, Croagunk, Dwebble, and Ferrorseed.

Varoom and its evolved version of Revavroom will also be added to Pokémon GO and players can find them by hatching 12 km eggs.

Finally, several Pokémon will have increased chances of appearing as shiny variants from Field Research. These Pokémon include Ekans, Zubat, Koffing, Wooper, Qwilfish, Poochyena, Sableye, Croagunk, Scraggy, Toxapex, Bruxish and Nymble.
