Overwatch 2 players were starting to get antsy as Season 4 approached and Blizzard didn’t bring up even a teaser about the new hero. But earlier today, Lifeweaver was officially announced.

Lifeweaver is the ninth support hero coming to Overwatch 2, with abilities meant to fit into the more aggressive and mobile meta. Support players have been struggling to keep up with charging tanks without getting immediately squished, but Lifeweaver is looking to make an impact with his rumored abilities.

Rumored Lifeweaver abilities in Overwatch 2

Lifeweaver has a very unique set of abilities that blend mobility with massive healing capabilities. It will really be important to have strong positioning while playing Lifeweaver in order to keep teammates alive while disrupting the enemy. Here’s his rumored abilities:

  • Passive — Parting Gift: Lifeweaver will leave a healing item behind when he’s eliminated, which can be used by either team
  • Petal Platform: Create platforms that will drop when stepped on by heroes on both teams
  • Life Grip: Create a shield for a targeted enemy, pulling them towards you
  • Rejuvenating Dash: Get a small burst of healing when you dash out of danger
  • Ultimate — Tree of Life: Place this tree anywhere on the map in an attempt to disrupt the enemy while simultaneously healing teammates that are near it

Abilities will most likely be confirmed tomorrow, April 4. For now, these are just speculation based on leaks ahead of Blizzard’s announcement.

Lifeweaver release date

Overwatch 2 players are antsy to get their hands on Lifeweaver but will have to wait until Season 4 comes out on April 11. If you’re not willing to pay to unlock the support, you’ll have to grind through the battle pass to get him. This new change hasn’t been popular in the Overwatch community but is most likely going to remain in Season 4.

Who is Lifeweaver?

Perhaps even more important than the abilities is the lore behind Lifeweaver. Overwatch is known for building an incredibly rich story full of hardship, war, friendship, and clashing cultures. Unfortunately, we don’t know much about Lifeweaver’s story thus far.

What we do know, however, is that he’s incredibly hot. With his long, blonde hair and sultry smirk, the chiseled hero is already being fantasized about all over Twitter. Houston Outlaws has even dubbed him the “flower man” due to the beautiful petals on his back.

It’s safe to say that the Overwatch 2 community will not rest until they find out more about Lifeweaver’s lore and the reason he’s so hot — I mean the reason he’s so in tune with nature.
