Will Pixar Characters Be in Disney Lorcana?

Disney Lorcana has a 10-year plan for Disney Lorcana cards and character introductions, but where does Pixar fit on the list?

Disney Lorcana has been gaining popularity since it launched earlier this month thanks to its assortment of Disney-themed cards. You can find a lot of your favorite classic Disney characters, songs, and moments in The First Chapter. But this has a lot of Disney fans wondering what other characters will be coming in later expansions.

According to Ravensburger Brand Mangers Ryan Miller, any Disney animated short or film is “fair game.” The Ravensburger team will be digging into these films and shorts for its 10-plus-year road map, he told LA Times.

There’s already a lot of unexpected characters in the The First Chapter. While you will find Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Simba, Stitch, Tinker Bell, and Elsa — among other popular Disney icons — you will also come across lesser-known characters like Starkey, Te Ka, Horace, and Flotsam. Now, Miller has expressed that we could see even more interesting characters from our core memories.

Will Pixar Characters Come to Disney Lorcana?

Recently, Miller talked to the Los Angeles Times about the company’s 10-year roadmap for the strategy card game. With this much thought put into the upcoming expansions of Disney Lorcana, there’s great potential for a wide array of characters.

But Disney has become huge over the years, absorbing Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, and other massive IPs. Does this mean we could see Luke Skywalker and Wall-E duking it out against Mickey and his pals?

Right now, Ravensburger has not confirmed that the Disney films and shorts will expand beyond Disney’s core. That leaves this up to speculation for fans of the strategy card game.

Some have noted that other Disney games like Disney Dreamlight Valley and the board game VIllainous (created by Ravensburger) do not go past the characters you’d expect. It’s possible that Disney Lorcana will want to remain true to this theme and stick to purely Disney movies.

But with 10 years ahead, it’s possible that Ravensburger will eventually have to dig into movies far beyond Disney’s own collection. Although that’s probably not mandatory since we are even getting side characters that only showed up for a few seconds on screen, like Sergeant Tibbs.

For now, there are so many characters and moments from Disney’s direct files to choose from that we shouldn’t expect anything from Star Wars and other brands Disney acquired over the years. I mean where’s Kovu from Lion King II? I’m sure that’s something we all want to know. Just me? Oh.
