What Is the Hunter x Hunter Game?

The Hunter x Hunter game will be a fighting game. It’s being developed by Eighting, a Japanese developer that’s behind many other popular fighting games inspired by anime, including Naruto, Bleach, Inuyasha, and more. Eighting was also behind Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Hunter x Hunter Fighting Game Gameplay

There is no gameplay available for Hunter x Hunter. Developers stated at Jump Festa 2024 that it will be a "full-scale Hunter x Hunter fighting game” but it’s still unclear what that exactly means. The FGC is hoping it’s similar to MvC3 in that it has three-on-three action but it’s also possible it could be an arena fighter like many other anime fighting games or maybe even a 3D or platform fighter.

Hunter x Hunter Game Characters

The full roster has not been revealed just yet but we do know which characters from the anime have been confirmed. Here are the names that have been confirmed by developers:

  • Gon Freecs
  • Leorio
  • Hisoka
  • Kurapika
  • Killua Zoldyck

Hunter x Hunter Release Date

Unfortunately, nobody has announced a release date for Hunter x Hunter’s fighting game. Bushiroad has stated, however, that more information will be released at the Bushiroad New Year Presentation event on January 6, 2024.

Fans are anxiously awaiting more information on the Hunter x Hunter fighting game. It’s a very popular manga and anime, with over 84 million copies of the manga in circulation by July 2022. The anime has only helped Hunter x Hunter grow in popularity thanks to its high-quality production and memorable characters.
