FaZe Clan Secure Final BLAST Paris Major 2023 Spot - Format, Teams, Schedule
The road to the final Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Major is well and truly underway. Taking place at the Accor Arena in Paris on May 18 - 21, the event first begins on May 8 with the Challengers Stage. FaZe Clan have just booked their ticket to Paris with a victory over Cloud9, a rematch of the ESL Pro League Season 17 Grand Finals.
FaZe Clan Qualify for Paris Major
FaZe Clan are currently the number 2 ranked team on HLTV, and they have performed extremely well this year. Taking the Intel Grand Slam just a few weeks ago, FaZe Clan have been on a dominant run, and Cloud9 have been just behind them every step of the way. This was the final series in the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ), simply put, the winner books their spot at the Major, the loser is knocked out.
The series began with Mirage, a FaZe Clan favorite, but a map that went the distance. Cloud9 dominated the first half, ending it with an 11-4 lead in the map, however FaZe Clan replied with an equally dominant CT half of their own, levelling the map 15-15. This pushed us to overtime, and here FaZe dominated, taking all four rounds in a row to win the map and lead the series 1-0. Broky was excellent in this map, putting up 32k and 16d as he was awarded a 1.45 rating on HLTV, and most definitely the MVP in this map one.
FaZe Clan closed out the series with a much more dominant map two performance, winning 16-9 on Inferno. After an 11-4 T side in the first half, FaZe carried this momentum into the second, closing out the map with ease and taking the series win. This sees them secure the final spot at the Paris Major, which is the last ever CS:GO Major.
BLAST Paris Major 2023 - Format, Teams and Schedule
The final ever CS:GO Major will be the BLAST Paris Major 2023. The event begins on May 8 - 11 with the Challengers Stage, before heading to the Legends Stage from May 13 - 16 and culminating at the Accor Arena with the Champions Stage from May 18 - 21.
There are 16 teams that have qualified for the Challengers Stage. These teams will play a swiss group format, with the top 8 teams overall qualifying for the Legends Stage, and joining the 8 already qualified teams there.
