A professional Call of Duty League player with the New York Subliners, KiSMET is known for his aggressive playstyle and ability to make highlight real plays. He started his gaming career in 2018, playing for several teams, including Paris Legion and Built by Gamers, before joining New York. He has competed in multiple Call of Duty titles, including Black Ops 4, Modern Warfare, and Cold War.

Throughout his career, KiSMET has earned several accolades, including multiple top-four finishes and MVP awards, the last one as recent as Major 1 in MW2.

We spoke with KiSMET to talk about what it was like winning Major 1, earning the honors of MVP for the first Major of the season, and who his dream duo would be.

What was that feeling like starting the year (MW2) off with a Major Championship?

It's a surreal feeling. Going into this year, I've only ever won one other tournament, and it wasn't in front of a crowd. Actually being able to do that in front of some people, I can't really describe the feeling of getting that first real Championship. The lights and the noise is like embedded in my brain if that makes sense. It was just a really surreal feeling, and it felt amazing. Going into it being the first team to win, there's nothing topping that.

And you get the MVP honors. What were you feeling throughout the weekend?

It's a weird one because I think going into that tournament if anybody really pays attention, I think any four of us could have. We all deserved that MVP. For whatever reason, they chose me. It just feels really good, especially being the first tournament. Just having that title. No one else had that title at that time. We're the only winners - I'm the only MVP. I was on such a pedestal, which felt great.

Let's talk about your background a little bit.

I could go into crazy detail about like a long story of how I got here. I've been playing Call of Duty for a while as far as getting into the CDL with Paris. At the time, it was a surreal feeling. I was only a pro for one year. Getting that opportunity on Paris, it was a bittersweet year. I won't go into crazy detail about why there were bad parts. But overall, at the end of the day, I was happy that I was given the opportunity that I had strived for for so long. After Paris, I had a big pushback moment in my life. I got kicked out of the league in the sense that I couldn't find a team. Basically, I worked backward. I went from the top level back down to challenges and had to work my way back in. It's a difficult thing to do because whenever you're in the league, a lot of people have these personas about you. They have already written out, OK, this is what KiSMET's like. I think I got the short end of the stick when it happened. I'm just very grateful that New York gave me the opportunity to kind of come back in and rewrite who I am because a lot of people see me a lot differently now. I think it's helping my career a lot.

Who is a Call of Duty League player, past or present, that's not on your team currently and that you have not played with - who would you want to be your duo?

I think I'd have to go with Seth. I think it'd be kind of crazy teaming with an icon like Scump. He's a great guy. He's funny. He cracks jokes. So I just think it would be a fun time.
